Rev. Dr. Elsabeth Hilke

 

Church Affiliation: Dr. Hilke was ordained in the United Church of Christ  in 1982  in the Chapel of Hood College in Frederick, Maryland. She served several area churches before becoming Pastor of Grace Trinity UCC in Frederick, Maryland in 2000.
Academic Background Dr. Hilke graduated from Smith College and received her M.A. and Ph.D. from Yale University, where she focused on History of Christian Doctrine, Systematic and Philosophical Theology. She has taught at Hood College, and is currently an Adjunct Professor at Frederick Community College.
Publications: Most recently, Dr. Hilke is the author/editor of  Growing Toward UnityVolume 6 of  The Living Theological Heritage of the United Church of Christ , Pilgrim Press 2001.
Personal: Elsabeth achieved her Gold Test in Figure Skating 'long ago'. and has been teaching competitive skaters in her spare time for more than 30 years. She lives with her husband, Jurgen, in Frederick. They have two sons, Chris and Jens, both of whom are Environmental Biologists.
